BILL NICOLELLA

Graduate, Washington High School and Edinboro University. A football three – year starter for Wash High at center and team captain, named to the All-Western Conference and All-WJPA (SW PA.) ALL-Star Teams.

At Edinboro University he earned a B.S. in Education and a M.S. in Education at West Virginia University.

At Edinboro he was a 3-year starter at center, his team was a two-time conference champions (PSAC) State Champions, the Associated Press #1 Team in the East and winner of the prestigious Lambert Bowl, were undefeated and ranked #3 in the nation in the 1970-71 season.

Bill started his coaching career at Clarion High School, (1972-1974) as an offensive line coach. He moved to the University of Tulsa (1975-1977) as an assistant football offensive line coach where his team was two times Conference Champions and were the Division I #1 offense team in the country. He coached in the Independence Bowl. At Waynesburg College (1979-1983) he was the offensive & defensive line coach of the NAIA Nationally Ranked team.

Bill was the tackles and tight ends coach at The Citadel in 1980 and closed out his coaching career at Slippery Rock University (1984-1987) as the defensive coordinator. His team was the #1 defense against the run, #2 in Total defense and #2 against the pass in the PASC for two years.

A part time scout for BLETSO in 1987 and was named top scout for BLETSO in 1988.
