DAVE ABRAHAM

Since 1946, Dave Abraham has been on the high school track and field scene either as a timer, starter, spotter or helper. While attending Canonsburg High School, he ran 200m and 400m races in track and was a running back for the football team. He won varsity letters for three years in both sports.

Prior to World War 11 he played semi-professional football and during the war he served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. and Alaska

He was employed by the state as a Fuel Tax Collector and retired in 1981.

Dave married Elizabeth George in 1940. They are the parents of 4 children and have 5 grandchildren. Dave has devoted his time to youth track.

He was an assistant track coach at Beaver Falls High School for 3 years. He has been an active PIAA track and cross-country official for 12 years. He is also a TAC official for Junior Olympics and has officiated for Special Olympic meets
