Coaching

  • In 11 years as Carmichaels head baseball coach, he compiled a brilliant 176-46 (.793) cumulative record with three WPIAL championships, seven section titles, and one appearance in the PIAA finals. He was forced to relinquish his coaching duties after being promoted to the school’s principal position.
  • He received numerous Coach of the Year honors, was a founding member of the WPIAL Baseball Coaching Association and served on the WPIAL Baseball Steering Committee.
  • Dave began his scholastic baseball coaching career at Lakeview High School, where he compiled a four-year cumulative record of 48-29 (.623) with a District 10 runner-up showing. He was also an assistant coach at Linesville High School in 1999 and that team won District 10 and advanced to the PIAA championship game.
  • After a 17-year hiatus he was hired as Mapletown High School’s head baseball coach prior to the 2022 season.
  • A scholastic and collegiate standout in football and baseball, Dave is a part-time police officer, a volunteer hunter safety instructor and an NRA certified shooting instructor and officer.
