A Waynesburg College graduate, Don Herrmann was a wide receiver for the New York Giants from 1969 to 1974, and for the New Orleans Saints from 1975 to 1977. He received the Jack Lavell trophy as the Most Popular Giant in 1973, the same year he ranked seventh among the top receivers in the National Football League.
A member of the Waynesburg College National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) championship team in 1966, he was named an NAIA All-American and was the state’s leading collegiate scorer with 120 points.

Don is an inductee in the Waynesburg College Hall of Fame, and continues to hold most of the records for a receiver at Waynesburg.

Married to his college sweetheart, Anne Halsey, for 30 years they now reside in Mendham, NJ with their three children where Don owns his own building company, Don Herrmann Custom Builder.
