  • 3 year letterman in football, making All County and All Conference
  • 3 year letterman in basketball, starting on the 1972 WPIAL championship team
  • 1 year letterman in baseball

Potomac State

  • First team junior college All American
  • All Conference and All Regional
  • Team captain as a sophomore

University of Pittsburgh

  • 2 year letterman
  • Starting offensive tackle on Pitt’s 1976 National Championship team
  • Offensive lineman of the week 3 times during the 1976 season
  • Selected captain for the Pitt / West Virginia game as a senior

Coaching Career

  • Head coach: Mapletown High School – 1978 to 1981
  • Assistant coach: Waynesburg High School and Mapletown High School
  • Head coach: Mapletown High School – 1987 to present
  • Total of 30 years in coaching
  • Became a member of the Century Club with 100th win in 2009
  • Named “Small School Coach of the Year” by the Herald Standard in 2001
  • Named “Coach of the Year” in 2005 by his peers in the Tri-County South Football Conference
  • Selected as head coach of the 2007 South Team that won the Tri-County All Star Classic
  • 3 time assistant coach for the Tri-County All Star Classic
  • Inducted into the Tri-County Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013 as part of the first class to permit active coaches
  • Also served as an assistant coach on the high school and junior high school level in basketball and softball
  • Co-Athletic Director 10 years
