As a member of the race walking Burgettstown Area Cadet Sports Club she surprised everyone by winning the 1975 National Junior Women’s 10 kilometer walk. She upset the heavily favored Beth Harwick of the West Penn Track Team and a former International champion. She set a new Junior National and Allegheny Mountain record with a time of 1:05:07, besting the former record by 39 seconds. With this win she became Burgettstown’s first female National Champion.

She was the first WPGAL (Now the WPIAL) AA girl’s triple Jump Champion in 1976 and set 6 school track and field records during her career at Burgettstown. Dvorsak was Burgettstown star basketball center and led the team to the WPIAL Semi-Finals in 1978.

A Member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who of High School All-American Students and selected a High School Track and Field All-American.

At the University of Pittsburgh she was a 1979-1980 All-East Regional, Track & Field Team, selected “ Most Valuable Player” 1979-1980 and set the Pitt indoor Pentathlon record 1979-1980

Kathleen is a volunteer softball coach for the Burgettstown Girls Summer League and the Pittsburgh Patriots Girls Summer League which played in the National Girls Playoffs. Presently is a volunteer track coach at Burgettstown High School.
