After starting his wrestling career at the Brownson House, Ken Evans was undefeated during his three years at Trinity Jr. High School. Moving to the varsity level, Evans was a two-time PIAA Champion in 1976 and 1977, losing only six matches in three years.

In 1977 Ken received a full scholarship to wrestle for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels where he started as a freshman in the 134 lb. weight class. While at UNC, he won the Old Dominion-Monarch Championship, the UNC Invitational Tournament, and was ranked seventh in the nation with a 21-2 record.

Following his wrestling career at North Carolina, Ken returned to Washington and coached wrestling at the Brownson House for seven years. He is considered one of the best to ever wear a Hiller uniform. His total win record ranks with other Trinity greats, John Chatman and Jerry Lattimore.
