  • A four-year letterman at Trinity High School, he was named an All-American, All-State and All-WPIAL in 1978. He also was an All-WPIAL selection in 1977.

  • He was named WPIAL Most Valuable Player in 1978 and was honored with the Dapper Dan High School Soccer Award the same year.

  • Mr. Engle scored 83 career goals at Trinity – second most in the state at that time. He tallied 54 in the 1978 season – second most for a single season at that time.

  • He was Trinity’s team captain as a senior and was a three-year letterman in track and field and lettered one year in wrestling.

  • Mr. Engle was part of the Hillers’ two-mile relay team that holds the school record set in 1978.

  • At West Virginia Wesleyan, he was a two-year letterman and was named All-Conference in 1979 and 1980 and the team’s leading scorer both years.

  • In his one season at Pitt, he earned a letter.
