RAYMOND E. HOWARD

Ray has coached Youth Sports and Adult Softball for 38 years. In 1965 he started what was to be an 8year program with the 8th. Ward Colts, a Youth football and basketball program. In 1966 his Colts won the Brownson House basketball championship and were runner-up in football. He started the Washington Patriots, a 8th. Grade traveling team in 1973, a first of it’s kind in the Washington area. They ended the season undefeated and league champions. He spent 4 years as manager in the Mustang and Bronco leagues of the Washington Youth Baseball.

In 1970 he became the President of the Brownson Youth Wrestling Association and was named the Brownson House Man of the Year. His last coaching venture was for Trinity West. During his three year tenure, (2000-2003) his team was 29-2, winning two championships and one runners-up in the 6th. & 7th. Grade League.

Coaching Adult Softball in 1965 began with the Jessop Club Men’s Softball Team, winners of the Industrial League title. In 1968 the Jessop Steel Softball Team won the Washington City Championship by upsetting the 1968 World Champion Failmont Supply Team. His 1983 Sam’s Associates Softball Team won the Washington City Championship, the USSSA Pennsylvania State Championship and the USSSA Class D eastern Championship and the USSSA World Championship.
