A graduate of Brownsville High School and California State College. Bob began his varsity high school athletic career in the ninth grade at Brownsville. He played baseball, football and track. A football AllConference quarterback and linebacker, he was also the WPIAL runner-up in track/field throwing the javelin and also was a PIAA place winner.
