ROBERT PETON

A graduate of Brownsville High School and California State College. Bob began his varsity high school athletic career in the ninth grade at Brownsville. He played baseball, football and track. A football AllConference quarterback and linebacker, he was also the WPIAL runner-up in track/field throwing the javelin and also was a PIAA place winner. In basketball he was named to the All Conference team. He played baseball for California State University, 1966 thru 1968.

As Washington High School’s baseball coach he has been in the WPIAL playoffs 24 of his 32 years of coaching baseball. His career record as of (5-27-04) is 361-172 for a .677 winning percentage. He has led Washington to 18 WPIAL Section Championships, 6 WPIAL section Runner-up, the 1977 WPIAL AAA Runner-up, 1991 WPIAL AA Runner-up, 1997 WPIAL AA Champion, 1998 WPIAL AA Champion, 1998 Western Region Champion, 1998 PIAA AA Champion an the 2002 WPIAL AA Champion. Peton’s post-season record is 40-23, a .634 winning percentage.

A great role model for his students, Peton is first and foremost a gentleman and a superor teacher of mathematics. He received his B.S. and Master Degree in Education from California State College.
