STEVE OLESKY

Steve Olesky of Washington is a native of Poland who came to the United States in 1921.

After attending grade school at Lincoln Hill, he attended Trinity High School, where he wrestled four years at 115 pounds under head coach Thomas (Pop) Ellwood and was undefeated all four seasons.

Olesky graduated from Trinity in 1934 and joined the Washington YMCA wrestling team coached by William A. (Doc) Harris. He won the AAU junior title at 115 pounds and was AAU senior champion five times.

He was undefeated in YMCA wrestling from 1934 through 1940 and coached the Washington YMCA team until it was discontinued in 1942.
