The James C. “Jimmy” Montecalvo and Luke Blanock Memorial Courage Award

  • Za’layah Edwards — Basketball — Chartiers-Houston and Fort Cherry High Schools; Penn State Fayette

Hall of Fame Moments

  • Dave Clark — Fort Cherry High School — In the 1986 WPIAL Class AA baseball quarterfinals, blasted two three-run home runs, driving in six runs including the walk-off winner, to defeat Carmichaels. The Rangers went on to win the WPIAL championship.
  • John Cohen — Washington High School — Returned a 72-yard punt as time expired for a 13-12 walk-off victory over Trinity in the 1980 season opener. It marked the renewal of the rivalry series and Washington’s first game under head coach Guy Montecalvo.
  • Olen Scott — Canon McMillan High School — Trailing 21-7 with just over a minute remaining, executed a reverse and pinned highly ranked wrestler Gus Spanos to secure a dramatic WPIAL Team Quarterfinal win over Keystone Oaks in 1986.
