Canon-McMillan High School, Washington and Jefferson College & Waynesburg University

Mason has managed several teams in the Frontier and Atlantic Leagues, including the Washington Wild Things, where he was twice named Coach of the Year. He has over 600 victories and three league titles with the York Revolution. As a pitcher at Waynesburg, Mason was an All-Conference and All-Region selection, and he pitched a no-hitter for Canon-McMillan in the 1979 Pennsylvania East-West All-Star Game. Mason later played professionally with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Class AA affiliate.
