Abby Lynn Tucker
Canon-McMillan
Abby is a four-year letter-winner in volleyball and track and field. A two-time All-State and All-WPIAL middle blocker, she helped the volleyball team win three straight section titles with a WPIAL semifinal appearance this past fall after reaching the finals in 2023. In track and field, she won the 2024 WPIAL Class AAA javelin championship. A standout student with a 4.17 cumulative GPA, Tucker will continue her academic and volleyball careers at West Virginia University, where she will study exercise physiology and intends to be an athletic trainer. She is the daughter of Ivan and Lisa Tucker of Canonsburg, Pa. In her 300-word essay responding to “How will the lessons I learned from my participation in high school athletics help to impact my future?” Abby wrote “As my high school athletics ends, I have been reflecting and never imagined I what I’ve accomplished and it all started with the support system I had around me. Focusing on my own journey and learning how to support people in good times and bad times are two of so many lessons I learned as an athlete. I will take these lessons as I grow older and one day pass them on to the other young athletes.”
