ANDREW MEDVED
Andy began his coaching at his Alma Mater, Beth-Center in 1986 as volleyball coach and has not had a losing season in those 17 years. His teams were Section Champions 10 times and have qualified for the WPIAL playoffs for 12 of those years. He has only one loss in Section 4 A during the last five years. His team advanced to the WPIAL final four in 2001, 2002 and 2003. They were the WPIAL runners-up in 2003 and became the first volleyball team from Washington/Greene County to qualify for the PIAA playoffs. He won his 300th match in 2003.
During his coaching career he has developed 71 All Section players, II All-WPIAL players and 10 AllPIAA players. Seven players received full scholarships. His teams have qualified for the American Volleyball Coaches All-Academic Team for fifteen consecutive years with an overall team quality point average of 3.87.
Medved is the founder and President of the Washington County Volleyball Coaches Association, founder and Head Coach of the Tri-County and Southwest PA Volleyball Clubs and member of the Pennsylvania and American Volleyball Coaches Associations. Nominated as the 2003 Olympic Coach of the Year/ Washington County Coach of the Year
A graduate of California University, he earned his B.S. in Elementary Education and his Masters in Health & Physical Education from West Virginia University.
