A four-year scholastic football letterman, he was also a three-year letterman in baseball and basketball. The 2006 Observer-Reporter Male Athlete of the Year, Sweat was a two-time First-Team All-State linebacker selection and an Under Armour High School All-American. He was the defensive captain of the Under Armour East All-American Team. Sweat, who received 150 Division I scholarship offers, was ranked as the No.2 Linebacker in the nation by ESPN and was also a Rivals 5-Star linebacker. He was a three-year starter and four-year letterman for the Buckeyes and also an immediate starter on special teams. Andrew was a four-year Academic All-American and four-year Academic All Big 10 selection. Also a First-Team All-Big Ten linebacker, he was OSU’s defensive team captain in 2011-2012 and received the 2011 Randy Gradishar Award for being the team’s best linebacker. He was nominated to the Columbus Chapter of the National Football Foundation’s event, celebrating top scholar-athletes. He received the prestigious 2012 Big 10 Outstanding Sportsmanship Award. Sweat was an undrafted free-agent signee with the Cleveland Browns following the 2012 NFL Draft before opting to pursue law school.
