CHARLES HUSTON
Charles A. Huston, a Washington native and resident of Lower Burrell, lettered in football, basketball and baseball at Claysville High School and graduated in 1932. He later played for Hazel Atlas No. 2 in the Hazel Atlas Basketball League.
He also played basketball for S.A. Meyer Jewelers, Washington Trojans, Goodes Sporting Store of Wheeling, White Front Restaurant, Washington YMCA and Avery Methodist. He was a member of a local team which won a national amateur tournament in Chicago.
In amateur baseball, Huston was catcher for the S.A. Meyer team and in softball, played for Hazel Atlas No 2 and Washington Veterans Club. He was associated for 33 years with the Burrell School District, where he coached basketball for 11 years and retired as superintendent of the district in 1982.
