MVP of the league’s All Star game
Played minor league baseball from Toronto to Cuba where Fidel Castro once threw out the first ball in one of Coles’ games.
Played AAA baseball in Elmira, Nashville & Albuquerque
In 1957 at Albuquerque, Coles batted .344 in 604 at bats with 208 hits, 26 home runs and 122 RBIs
Member of the 1958 Cincinnati Reds as a first baseman and outfielder
Played with Harvey Haddix, Frank Robinson, Gus Bell,
Don Newcombe, Bob Purkey, Joe Nuxhall, Smokey Burgess,
Roy McMillan and Don Hoak
