Hollywood Casino at the Meadows

Dan Altmeyer, a native of Kittanning, has been a dedicated horse trainer since the mid-1970s. In June 2024, he earned his 1,000th career victory when driver Ronnie Wren Jr. led Pit Boss Hanover to victory at the third race at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows. Altmeyer has trained six world champions, including the legendary Cambest, who set a world record with a 1:46.1 mile in 1993. Altmeyer’s accomplishments also include 600 career wins as a driver, earning nearly $18 million in combined purses from both driving and training. His family-run organization, Altmeyer Wilder Racing, is deeply involved in harness racing, with operations at both The Meadows and Spring Garden Ranch in Florida, and they have 30 horses either racing, training, or coming from their broodmare band and foals.
