• 3 sport letterman in football, wrestling and track
• Section champion in wrestling as a senior at 127 lbs.
• WPIAL runner-up

• As a sophomore in 1963, broke the school and Greene County meet records in the mile event with a time of 4:41.6

• Won the WPIAL and PIAA championships as a junior with a personal best time in the mile of 4:28.9

• Repeated as WPIAL and PIAA champion as a senior with a time in the mile of 4:20.9, setting a new state record by 2 seconds

• Qualified for the 880 event at the state tournament as a senior earning a 4th place finish

Waynesburg College

• Competed in cross country and track
• Qualified for the NAIA National Finals in cross country in 1965 and 1966
• NAIA District 18 champion in the mile
• At the Frostberg, MD meet he won the 880, mile, 2 mile and anchored a win in the mile relay
• 35 year teaching career in the West Greene School District
• As a head coach, assistant coach or volunteer coach he was involved in track, cross country, wrestling and football
