ATHLETE AND COACH
- Compiled an impressive 129-13-1 (.906) scholastic cumulative record.
- A four-time PIAA state qualifier, Vulcano was a three-time section champion (one runner-up), two-time WPIAL runner-up, who also produced third and fourth-place WPIAL finishes.
- He was a starter on CH-s 1981-82 WPIAL and PIAA championship-winning team as well as the 1980-81 WPIAL runner-up team.
- His 129 career victories remained a school record for 31 years until it was surpassed by his nephew, Garrett Vulcano.
Coaching
- Vulcano compiled a 107-57 (.652) during a 12-year run as Chartiers-Houston’s head wrestling coach.
- During that time, he coached four PIAA place-winners including one champion, 21 PIAA state qualifiers, six regional champions, and 12 WPIAL champions.
- He was a Coach of the Year nominee after guiding the Bucs to a second-place finish at the 2001 WPIAL Team Tournament.
- Vulcano was also an assistant wrestling coach at perennial power Cannon McMillan for seven years.
