JOSEPH STELLAVATO
Joseph (Nick) Stellavato, graduate, Indiana University, was an outstanding athlete for Trinity High School where he distinguished himself as a three-sport letter winner. Nick was an interior lineman and became the first football player from Washington to be selected to play in the Pennsylvania Big 33 game in 1959.
As a wrestler for Trinity, he was a two-time WPIAL champion, and advanced to the PIAA semifinals.
He was a standout catcher for Trinity and American Legion baseball teams. Nick played football at Indiana University for one year.
Nick died in 2000 and is survived by his wife, Sandra, who resides in Las Vegas, Nev., and their three children, Mickey, Joseph and Daniel, along with three grandchildren.
