A 1997 PIAA wrestling runner-up who also rushed for 1,600 yards in football, Koscheck was a four-time NCAA Division I 174-pound All-American at Edinboro University.

He capped his 42-0 junior season by winning the 2001 NCAA I National Championship and compiled a 128-17 cumulative collegiate record.

Josh finished fourth and second nationally his first two collegiate seasons and third as a senior despite a bulging disk injury in his neck. A four-time PSAC champion, he won two EWL and three PSAC Wrestler of the Year awards after winning both league’s Freshman of the Year honor.

Koscheck then enjoyed much success in Mixed Martial Arts with Ultimate Fighting Championships. He won 17 of his first 22 professional fights, including twice winning Knockout of the Night and Fight of the Night as well as Submission of the Night once. He lost a close decision for the 2010 UFC Welterweight Championship.
