LIBBUS LEWIS

Libbus Lewis, a Waynesburg native, played three years of football at Washington High School and was an All-WPIAL end in 1929.

Lewis was a three-year starting end at Carnegie Tech and was co-captain of the Tartans in 1933.

After fracturing his leg in a game with Notre Dame in 1932, he came back the following year to score a touchdown against the Irish and also scored two touchdowns on passes against Temple.

He was named to an all-opponent team picked by famed Pitt coach Jock Sutherland.

He served as a radarman first class in the U.S. Navy in World War II and is now a resident of Westville, CT.
