Paul Chicone of Washington, along with his brother Joseph, will be inducted for his career as a basketball player at Washington High school and later in independent ranks.
Paul Chicone, after starting in the Washington Church League, where he was a member of a championship team, played basketball for Wash High in 1932, 1933 and 1934, with the team winning a section title in his senior year.
From 1935 through 1942, he played for Jefferson Avenue Methodist in the Church League and was one of the league’s highest scorers.
He also played for Hazel No. 1 in the Industrial League and for Washington YMCA in two national tournaments in Reading and Jamestown, N.Y.
Chicone coached the district champion Washington American Legion team from 1946 through 1948.
