Reimer played on the Region 1 Olympic Development Team in 1998, 1999 and 2002. He also played for Brian Retzloff on the Beadling Soccer Team which won four Pennsylvania West State championships. Reihner was an Ohio Valley Conference First-Team All-Conference selection from 2000-2003 and the 2003 OVC Player of the Year. Stephen was a 2002 and 2003 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA, now United Soccer Coaches) West Virginia First-Team selection and 2003 NSCAA West Virginia Player of the Year. He was also a 2003 NSCAA/Adidas All-American and Regional All-American as well as being named to the 2003 EA High School All-America Team. Reihner was a four-year starter at Penn State from 2004-2007, where he made the Big 10 All-Freshman Team in 2004 and helped the Nittany Lions win the Big 10 championship in 2005, which was capped with tournament wins over Michigan State and Indiana. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division I playoffs and won 13 games. He also played one season of professional soccer with Tampere PV in Finland’s second division.
