THOMAS R. MILHOLLAN
Thomas R. Mihollan of Washington, a meritorious service award winner, is a native of Monessen and played basketball at Monessen High School.
Milhollan was active as a basketball and softball player after moving to Washington.
He played basketball for Broad Street Baptist and Avery Methodist in the Washington Church League and S.A. Meyer and Jessop Steel in the Industrial League, before becoming a member of Avery and S.A. Meyer championship teams. He was a member of a YMCA All-Star team in 1939 which finished second in a field of 30 teams.
In fast pitch softball, Milhollan was a pitcher and infielder for more than 20 years, playing for Broad Street Baptist in the church league and industrial league teams such as Andy Brothers, McWreath Dairy, Jessop Steel and Precision Industries.
He pitched six no-hit games during his career and in 1938 was voted the outstanding pitcher in a Tri-State tournament in Washington.
