DAVE COOK

Dave was an outstanding wrestler, coach and official. At Chartiers-Houston he was a sectional runnerup, 2-time section champion, WPIAL Champion & PIAA runner-up. His high school record was 54-9.

At California State he was a conference runner-up and 2-time conference Champion, NAIA Qualifier, Wilkes Open Runner-up, NCAA 3rd Place Eastern Regional, NCAA Qualifier. All-American his overall individual college record was 48-9.

Cook began his wrestling coaching career at Washington Jr. High from 1971- 1975 compiling a record of 25 -8. In 1975 he started the first wrestling team at Ringgold High School and compiled a record of 19-9. Coaching at Chartiers-Houston from 1978-1980, his record was 39-7. He moved to CanonMcMillan High School in 1981 and coached until 1986. His team won two WPIAL Team Championships, was WPIAL Team Runner-up, a PIAA Team Runner-up, Two-time Manheim Team Championship, and Four Sectional Team Championships.

Cook’s overall coaching record was 160-44-1 for an outstanding winning percentage of .783. He coached 26 Section Champions, 11 WPIAL Champions and 4 PIAA Champions during his career.

A highly respected referee during his 16-year career. He refereed many Section Tournaments, 5 WPIAL Tournaments, 5 PIAA Tournaments and 1 National Champion Tournament.
