EDWARD SLOSKY

Ed was the starting fullback for East Pike and the 1949 California Community High School’s WPIAL championship football team. In his four year career he was the team’s leading rusher and the second leading scorer. Was named to the 1948-1949 A11-WPIAL team and was selected to play for the WPIAL team vs. the Allegheny High School All-Stars at Forbes Field. He was also named to the Mon Valley All-Star team.

At Indiana University he played on the offensive line as a guard for three years. After graduation he entered the U.S Army and served two years. Ed was a long time teacher at Washington High School where he coached football and track for seventeen years. He was a WPIAL basketball official for many years and was inducted into the California High School’s Hall of Fame.
