JOHN MACERELLI

A Member of the 1950 St. Vincent’s College team coached by Al DeLuca that defeated Emory & Henry in the Tangerine Bowl. John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1952-1954. He is listed on the NFL Honor Roll as one of 226 NFL Personnel who served in the military during the Korean War.

Signed as a free agent by the Cleveland Browns in 1954 where he became an original Paul Brown “Messenger Guard” and was a member of the Cleveland Browns 1955 NFL championship team.

Macerelli was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1957 as part of an eight player deal and spent the 1957 and 1958 on Green Bay’s practice squad.
