Joseph Bick, a native of Washington, is a graduate of Trinity High School and played reserve and varsity basketball. He played baseball in the Industrial League with Atlas and Varner AC. He also played in the Pigeon Creek League.

He was active as a basketball player from 1937 through 1942 in Washington Church, Industrial, YMCA and Senior leagues and for a team sponsored by Sammy Angott.

Bick also played basketball in 1942, 1943 and 1944 in Pittsburgh Industrial and Pittsburgh Muny Leagues.
