- His soccer career was from1948-1968 except for serving as a U.S. Army Corporal in Korea 1953-1954.
- He scored more than 150 goals while playing for 13 different teams.
- Winfield played on four championship and five runner-up teams.
- Selected for nationwide Olympic tryouts in 1952 and 1960.
- Selected for nationwide tryout for 1951 RIO World Cup Games.
- Selected for nationwide tryout, 1959 Pan American Games.
- Member of the 1948 Sheffield United Juniors, top minor league team of the Sheffield United Blades.
- First team in USA was Lincoln Hillers in 1948 and then standout right halfback for Hamarville Hurricanes, the 1952-53 national championship runner ups.
- Named as one of the “District Greats” in 1955.
- Helped the 1962 Gallatin Tigers team win the West Penn,
- Stuart Cup, and Washington County League championships.
- Played on 1963 Atlasburg Vets team which won the Sweet Cup Championship.
- In 1963 he scored five (5) goals in WCL playoff game for Atlasburg.
- In 1968 he scored a hat trick (three goals) in final game of his career.
- In the 1960’s served as a soccer referee for the W&J soccer league (PAC?).
- Coached youth baseball in Bronco and Pony Leagues.
- Manager of the 1976 Presco baseball team that won the league championship.
- Manager of the 1976 Pony League All Stars finishing as regional runner-up to eventual Pony World Series runner-up Monongahela.
