WILLIAM W. REESE

William (Bill) Reese, of Washington, is a 1943 graduate of Washington High School where he played football and basketball.

He entered Washington & Jefferson College and played freshman basketball before dropping out to go to work. He returned and attended night school, playing for head coach Adam Sanders’ 1944 team which defeated Westminster to win the Tri-State collegiate championship. He recalls making trips to New York and Philadelphia to play Long Island University and Temple.

Reese later played basketball for Washington Mould in the Industrial League and S. A. Meyer in the Community League and for the Washington team backed by Joe Manfredi Sr. in the All-America Conference.

Reese also played baseball for Washington Mould in the Industrial League and Scott Motors in Wheeling and Washington County Leagues. He has served as a coach in Washington Pony League and Junior Church Basketball League and has been employed for many years as a mould maker at Washington Mould and Kelly Industries, where he is currently employed.
